I was the DOP and Editor for the second half of season 1 and the whole of season 2 for the show Wheelburn. When I first joined the team they were on a shoestring budget aiming to just get the show on TV. I helped them step up their production value and streamline their creative process to the point where multiple networks around the world are interested in purchasing the show.
The show is high speed adrenalin fuelled and lies somwhere between Top Gear and Nitro Circus. Season 2 has just been released to Australia and New Zealand via Chanel 7 Mate and Spark Sport, with TVNZ Duke and the Phillipines soon to release the season as-well.
The show is presented by the creator of Motohub Mike Dawes and Cole Armstrong the 2X New Zealand Drifting Champion. They take celebrities and pro drivers drifting around the track at Hampton Downs before getting them into the drivers seat for the fastest lap and gymkhana competition.
The results are hilarious as people get brought well out of their comfort zone and learn how to drive high performance cars at at over 200kmh.
